The Congolese big man with a Spanish passport returns to Europe after 14 years and over a thousand NBA games. This promises to be an outstanding Euroleague
The big death knell comes from FC Bayern Munich, who announced a one-year contract with Serge Ibaka. The Congolese big man with a Spanish passport is therefore returning to Europe after 14 years and over a thousand NBA games under his belt. He started just 15 games last season in Milwaukee and then moved to Indiana, where he was immediately released and ended his NBA career, but the 208cm (208cm) born player can still have his say in Europe. After the additions of Kemba Walker (Monaco), Jabari Parker and Willy Hernangomez (Barcelona), here is another NBA Caliph for a Euroleague that promises to be a star.
The title with Toronto in 2019 is the culmination of a career in which Ibaka was named the league’s best shot blocker twice (2012 and 2013) and was part of the best defensive quintet three times (2012, 2013 and 2014). Bayern Munich’s Italian GM Daniele Baiesi is therefore providing a great intimidator under the basket to try to keep the train going in the playoffs.
