NBA, All Star Game 2023: the roster. Selected the reserves, full squads

Outstanding bans in both East and West: Jimmy Butler, James Harden, De’Aaron Fox and Anthony Davis stay out. First outing for Tyrese Haliburton
The convocations to the All Star Game cause discussions like that of the national coach before a World Cup. Why this yes and the other no: The debate is endless. During the Italian night, the names of the 14 reserves for the Salt Lake City Star Game scheduled for Sunday, February 19, were announced, the starters having been announced a week ago. There was no shortage of surprises, this time perhaps more than ever the decisions of the coaches, they were the ones who decided how the squad would be completed, they got the fans arguing. Some decisions are even controversial, but it is precisely in the nature, and perhaps even the spirit, of competition to provoke debate. As long as we talk about it, because it will be more show and entertainment than a traditional sporting competition.
east conference
—
Guards selected were Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Tyrese Haliburton (rookie, Indiana Pacers), DeMar DeRozan (Chicago Bulls) and Jrue Holiday (Milwaukee Bucks). The big men selected are instead Julius Randle (New York Knicks), Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat) and of course Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), who had been snubbed among the starters. Owners like Peaches from the East should not be forgotten: Antetokoumpo (Captain), Irving, Mitchell, Durant and Tatum. Team Giannis’ coach will be Joe Mazzulla, one of the Celtics with the best record in the East.
Western Conference
—
Selected guards were Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies), Paul George (Los Angeles Clippers) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (rookie, Oklahoma City Thunder). The big men selected are Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento Kings), Lauri Markkanen (rookie, Utah Jazz) and Jaren Jackson (rookie, Memphis Grizzlies). West’s starters, as a reminder, are James (captain), Jokic, Curry, Doncic and Williamson. Team LeBron’s coach will be Michael Malone, coach of the Nuggets, who have the best record in the West. Antetokounmpo and LeBron as captains, dubbed the Pre-Agara, will make teams, call after call, a model game on the field. So there will be cross formations between the two conferences.
The nudges
—
Leading the way in the East were Jimmy Butler, James Harden and Darius Garland, surprising given the team records they were favored first by Holiday and then by DeRozan and Haliburton. And coaches should keep this criterion in mind. Additionally, it’s odd that Adebayo and Randle were chosen over Butler and Jalen Brunson, teammates and cornerstones of Miami and New York. Raptors forward Pascal Siakam also had legitimate star game aspirations. Disappointed. In the West, the expulsion of Sacramento director De’Aaron Fox, who favored Gilgeous-Alexander’s pyrotechnic offensive figures, is making noise. Among the big men, with all due respect to Jackson, Anthony Davis was likely to be selected, who had been injured for a long time but played as many games as Zion Williamson, who was also in the starting XI.
